Many people wonder why they should be healthy and how to achieve it. Others are concerned about their well-being and whether their lifestyle will have an impact on their health.

In the following paragraphs, I will explain the importance of maintaining good health and how to achieve a healthy lifestyle.

Providing your body with its daily requirements and minimising exposure to toxins can help your body fight diseases, live a long and fit life, and stay healthy.

Exposing your body to continuous toxins such as cigarettes, unhealthy food, sugars, and heavy metals can lead to the development of diseases and accelerate the deterioration of your body.

So why should I be healthy, and how?

Your diet

By eating the right way and giving your body the vitamins and minerals it needs from natural sources, you prepare it to be stronger against external viruses and bacteria and to regenerate, so it looks younger compared to other people who are not concerned about their health.

Being healthy starts at an early age and will help you develop a healthy routine that reflects on you and the people around you.

For pregnant women, eating healthy early, even before pregnancy, is so important for their well-being and their child’s health.

Exercise

Exercise helps the body get more oxygen and eliminate toxins through sweating. (1)

Developing muscles is one of the best things you can do for your body, as muscles keep burning extra calories even while sleeping. Muscles help support your body’s posture and metabolism.

Hydration

Keep in mind that your body needs a lot of water; unhealthful drinks can’t replace it, especially sugary drinks.

How can I be healthy?

You need to believe that having a healthy life is a must, and starting at an early age will help you be flexible enough to change your daily routine gradually.

So knowing what may affect you and what is healthy will ease your way, so start with your diet. A healthy, balanced diet is a must for your overall health.

    1. Fruits and vegetables

A varied daily amount of fruits and vegetables can nourish your body with the needed vitamins and minerals. But try to limit fruit juices, even pure ones, as they are loaded with natural sugars, which will lead your pancreas to secrete a lot of insulin and eventually lead to insulin resistance, leading to diabetes.

Vegetables are rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. So try to know what suits you and avoid what may cause you discomfort.

2. Carbohydrates

Healthy carbs are a good source of the body’s energy. By trying to avoid refined white wheat and replacing it with whole grains, your body will gain the nutrients it needs and will not secrete a lot of insulin, which will help you feel full for a longer time.

White bread, spaghetti, etc. are made of white wheat, so limit them as much as possible.

There are several types of organic whole grains that you can find online:

1. Organic whole wheat

2. Organic barley flour

3. Brown rice flour

4. Oat flour

3. Proteins

Protein is needed by your body to function properly and help build your muscles. Try getting your protein from plant sources, such as lentils, beans, and so on, as well as animal sources, such as beef, fish, and so on. To minimize hormonal and pesticide use, vary these sources and try to get them from a good market.

4. Fats and oils

Our body needs fats such as ghee and animal-derived fats to function properly. Oils play a crucial role in body functions, particularly for women, whose bodies contain more fat than those of men.

Avoid overheating cold-pressed oils to reap their full benefits and prevent potential oxidation.

5. Water

Water is what your body needs for hydration. Some drinks may help with hydration or dehydration. Sugary and caffeinated drinks increase the body’s dehydration. So, what you drink either hydrates you or dehydrates you. Some herbal teas can be a good source of hydration for your body.

Drinking water regularly is your goal. Don’t let your body get dehydrated.

6. Sport

Body movement is very essential to maintaining a healthy life. Walking is a simple way to keep your body active, but it also helps your body stay fit when your caloric intake doesn’t exceed your needs. Carrying weights is also a good way to build muscle, and those muscles will help you burn calories even while sleeping.

For about 30 minutes per day, try walking and exercising as much as possible.

Things you need to avoid:

    1. Sugar, including cakes, drinks, and juices
    2. Fried food
    3. Canned food
    4. High-mercury fish
    5. Ready-made/industrial food

Focus on your overall health and try to adopt a healthy lifestyle as soon as possible, as this is what will help you change from the inside out, and this change will keep you fit and healthy all your life. What you do now will have a positive effect on your general health and help your children have a healthy, balanced lifestyle when they grow up.

So after reading this, you should have a general idea of “why I should be healthy and how.” I hope this will give you a push to start adopting a healthy lifestyle from now on.
